RICARDO G. BENAVIDES

Mr. Benavides graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 1989. He obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University College of Law in 2001.

Mr. Benavides became licensed to practice law in the State of Texas in 2001 and in the State of Kansas in 2011. He is also admitted to practice law before the United States District Court in the Southern District of Texas and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

While in law school, Mr. Benavides was a member of the External Advocacy Team and Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity. He graduated cum laude and was inducted into The John Harlan Society and The Order of Barristers.

Before joining Daw & Ray, L.L.P. in February 2012, Mr. Benavides worked for civil litigation firms in McAllen, Texas where he obtained extensive experience in civil litigation. He was promoted to Partner in July 2013.

Mr. Benavides also served on the board of directors for the Hidalgo County Bar Association from 2001 to 2004. Mr. Benavides is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas, the State Bar of Kansas, and Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity.

Mr. Benavides’ areas of practice include personal injury, premises liability, and commercial liability, and first and third party insurance defense.
