JAMES L. RAY

On January 22, 1996, Mr. Ray joined the firm as a Partner. On January 3, 1997, Mr. Ray became a Named Partner and the law firm of Daw & Associates became Daw & Ray as it is known today. Mr. Ray has been Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1991 and has achieved Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards based on both judicial and peer review.

Mr. Ray has tried cases in State Courts in Houston and surrounding areas and has represented clients in litigation throughout the state. He has also successfully handled appellate matters in front of Texas Courts of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Texas.

Mr. Ray’s practice has migrated toward defending catastrophic and multi-party litigation. Mr. Ray recently directed the representation of a shoring contractor in fifteen different lawsuits for wrongful deaths, personal injuries and property damages arising out of the collapse of a shopping mall. Mr. Ray also handled the defense of a national crane company against allegations of negligence and breach of contract, causing property damages in excess of fifteen million dollars. He also obtained the summary dismissal of all claims brought by 2,800 plaintiffs against a client who manufactured insulation materials used in two nuclear power plants in Texas.
