C. THOMAS VALENTINE, JR.
Mr. Valentine has been a Partner in the firm since 2001. He has over 30 years of experience handling construction defect-related claims throughout Texas in both the courthouse and in ADR proceedings. In 2025, Mr. Valentine changed the focus of his practice from the role of adversary to neutral. With his years of experience, and knowledge of the law and the industry, he has taken the opportunity to use that experience and continue his practice by helping others resolve their disputes through ADR.
Mr. Valentine is a member of the Construction Arbitration Panel of the American Arbitration Association. He is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Personal Injury Trial Law and has achieved Martindale Hubbell’s highest rating of “AV” for legal ability and ethical standards based on both judicial and peer review.
He has handled hundreds of construction defect claims representing general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, and owners. Public projects include schools, courthouses, jails, utilities, gymnasiums, and transportation facilities. Commercial cases include hospitals and medical buildings, retail/office space, parking garages, auto dealerships, and warehouses. Multifamily/residential cases include mid-rise hotel and apartment buildings, mid and high-rise condominiums, and tract homes to high-end custom homes. The above work has also involved the resolution of numerous insurance coverage disputes, including additional insured and indemnity claims.
While Mr. Valentine’s practice focused on handling complex multi-party construction defect litigation, he also maintained an active personal injury trial docket, which allowed him to maintain his board certification since 2001. He has successfully tried numerous personal injury cases. He practices throughout the State of Texas and has tried cases in several Texas counties.
Mr. Valentine graduated from the University of Houston in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in American Jurisprudence and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in 1992. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and is also admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
