Military Defense Practice
In 2005 Daw & Ray added this unique practice of law - providing defense representation to military service members from all branches to the firm’s repertoire when the firm acquired one of the most highly rated and experienced former judge advocates in the United States military.
James K. Floyd, the Managing Partner of the San Antonio office, practiced law in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps from 1991 until 2005. He set a standard for excellence early in his military career when he was selected as a Distinguished Graduate of U.S. Air Force ROTC. He continued to excel throughout his career and was selected as the U.S. Air Force’s Outstanding Judge Advocate of the Year in 2002.
While on active duty he successfully tried numerous high profile cases all over the world as an Area Defense Counsel at Osan Air Base Korea, then as a Circuit Defense Counsel in the European Judicial Circuit, and finally as the Chief Circuit Trial Counsel for the Central Judicial Circuit for the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Floyd was raised in the military by career NCO’s. This combined with seasoned trial level experience as a prosecutor and defense attorney, as well as experience as an appellate counsel, provides clients an attorney with extraordinary insight into the military and its justice system. When your career and livelihood are on the line, Mr. Floyd has the knowledge and experience necessary to protect your rights throughout the entire military justice process.
